题记：朋友转发给我一个美国某教会的链接，上面居然写“God hates China”，说四川的地震是上帝的震怒。我认识的上帝、我从圣经里了解的上帝不是这样的，祂是一个慈爱的神，祂爱万人，并为人的救赎而舍己。“上帝就是爱”，祂是圣洁而公义的，这些属性是祂不能容忍罪，但祂爱每一个罪人，因为我们都是按祂的形象被造的。传播“仇恨”的教会不是上帝的教会，那是属撒旦的，只有撒旦才会从人的痛苦与哀恸中获得满足与快乐。于是我回了下面的评论，也在这里贴一遍。我知道今年以后我写博客不勤，因为今年是多事之秋，很多时候没有心情写，请谅解。
Dear editors,
First of all I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a baptized Chinese Christian born to a Christian family. As long as I know, I'm at least the 5th generation of Christian along our family line, my grandfather was a pastor of a Baptist church in the north-eastern China region before 1949, my father went to theological seminary, both my father and sister are Christian artists who devote themselves to the missionary work, and I'm involved in some of this work from time to time.
According to the latest special edition of "National Geographic" on China, 8.4% of the total population in China is Christian, that makes the total number of Christians in China exceeding 100 million. I know that is only the OFFICIAL number which doesn't count in the family churches and "underground" churches, so the real number would be even bigger, and it grows every day!
But all these don't seem to bother you much, as you claim that "God hates China". When people in China are mourning their lost ones, I know so well that among the victims, there were Christians, and children, and people who worked hard to preach the Gospel. But they counted none in your eyes.
Does God really hate China? Or does Satan do?
In the Bible, I learned a God who LOVES every man, as they are created in His image, and He loves them SO MUCH that He sent His ONLY SON, Jesus Christ, to die for them! I also learned a God who is slow to get angry, He wants to see more people saved than doomed, and He is "ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abundant in kindness" (Nehemiah 9:17; see also Psalm 103:8; 145:8; Joel 2:13; Jonah 4:2; Nahum 1:3). If God is such a God, I don't see Him using, as what you said, earthquakes to "avenge".
The only thing I would see God "hate" is sins, or, I don't even use the word "hate". "Hate" is a kind of bitter and satanic feeling that God surely doesn't share. God is righteous and holy, these of His qualities mean that He wouldn't tolerate sins, but He LOVES sinners, as we all are sinners that "fall short of the glory of God". (Romans 3:23) And His order to us is to evangelize people, to spread His gospel to the end of the world.
As the Bible says, "the acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; HATRED, discord, jealousy, FITS OF RAGE, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like." (Galatians 5:19-21), and "the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, joy, peace, patience, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, faithfulness, GENTLENESS and self-control."(Galatians 5:22,23) God is surely not a god who rejoices in causing more pains to people that He loves so much to the point to die for them, but Satan does rejoice in seeing more hatred, more pains, more troubles, more tribulations...
God does NOT derive satisfaction from the mournings of people in China, but Satan DOES, Satan does also from seeing hatred being sowed elsewhere.
So, what we should do right now, is to show our care, our love, and to help, it is only by spreading God's love (to one's neighbors, even enemies) that we can break the bitter spell of hatred cast by Satan on our hearts.
God loves America, God loves China, too.
Spreading hatred is not a solution to problems, troubles, but spreading God's love will surely bring us closer to Him, the Almighty One.
